What does each of these accreditations stand for?
ISO Standards are a key part of our society as they ensure quality and safety in both products and services in international trade. Businesses can be seen to benefit from ISO standards as they help to cut costs by improved systems and procedures put in place.
CE – is a declaration by the manufacturer that the product meets all the appropriate provisions of the relevant legislation implementing certain European Directives. CE marking gives companies easier access into the European market to sell their products without adaptation or rechecking.
RSPO – means that as a business, Hygiene Vision Europe is taking all the steps necessary to ensure that the supply chain only uses sustainable, ethically sourced palm oil. With the ever-increasing need for raw materials to be produced without causing any harm to the environment or communities, making sure Hygiene Vision Europe is RSPO certified is more important than ever.
ECOLABEL – is a label of environmental excellence that is awarded to products and services meeting high environmental standards throughout their life-cycle: from raw material extraction, to production, distribution and disposal. The EU Ecolabel promotes the circular economy by encouraging producers to generate less waste and CO2 during the manufacturing process. The EU Ecolabel criteria also encourages companies to develop products that are durable, easy to repair and recycle.
EN – European Standards are documents that have been ratified by one of the three European Standardization Organizations (ESOs), CEN, CENELEC or ETSI; recognized as competent in the area of voluntary technical standardization as for the EU Regulation 1025/2012.
HALAL – is a voluntary process by which a credible Islamic organization certifies that a company’s products can be lawfully consumed or used by Muslims. Those who meet the criteria for certification are given halal certificates, and they may use a halal marking or symbol on their products and advertising
COUNTRY REGISTRATIONS – Allows sales in specific European countries
UKCA – is the new UK product marking that is required for certain products to be placed on the market within the UK. It covers most products that required the CE mark.
